Welcome to Bellingen Pre School's new website

Thank you visiting our new website.

Bellingen Preschool is a  not for profit community based centre which has been built by our local community over the past 30 years and reflects the diversity and needs of our community.

Bellingen Preschool is about children, families, education and the community.

Our aim is to value each child as a unique individual within the context of of his/her own family and community.  Current research shows that a quality preschool education significantly improves a child’s later life opportunities by giving them increased language, learning and social skills on entry to primary school.

We place play in the centre of our preschool programme.  The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia defines play based learning as “a context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects and representations”.

Within the context of play there exists a range of learning opportunities.  Children explore social relationships, contribute ideas and take on the ideas of others.  Play provides the opportunity to explore, experiment, discover, to solve problems.  Through play children have the opportunity to have fun, to experience and to express joy.

Preschool is a fun place to be with varied and exciting activities planned to meet the needs of individual children and develop individual skills
